Who we help

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is one of the biggest physical changes your body will ever go through.

As your baby grows, your spine, pelvis, posture, muscles, ligaments and nervous system are constantly adapting. For some women, these changes feel manageable. For others, they can lead to pain, tension, stiffness, poor sleep and the feeling that your body is struggling to keep up.

At Better., we support pregnant women with gentle, pregnancy-appropriate chiropractic care designed to help your body move and function as well as possible through each stage of pregnancy.

We understand that pregnancy discomfort can affect everything — how you sleep, how you walk, how you work, how you care for other children and how confident you feel in your body.

Below are some of the common reasons pregnant women come to see us, along with how we approach care during this important stage.

Do you experience:

  • lower back pain?

  • pelvic pain or instability?

  • pubic pain or pressure?

  • hip discomfort?

  • sciatica or nerve-related pain?

  • rib or mid-back pain?

  • neck and shoulder tension?

  • headaches?

  • difficulty getting comfortable at night?

  • pain when walking, rolling over or getting out of bed?

  • discomfort when sitting, standing or working?

  • postural changes as your belly grows?

  • general stiffness, tightness or fatigue?

These concerns are common during pregnancy, but that does not mean you simply have to put up with them.

Pregnancy places extra load through your spine and pelvis. As your body changes, your centre of gravity shifts, your ligaments soften, and your muscles often have to work harder to support you.

When your spine, pelvis or surrounding muscles are not moving well, this can contribute to pain, tension and reduced comfort.

Supporting your body through pregnancy

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is focused on helping your body adapt.

We look at how your spine, pelvis and nervous system are functioning, and whether there are areas of tension, restriction or imbalance that may be contributing to your discomfort.

The goal is not to force your body into a position. It is to support better movement, reduce unnecessary strain and help you feel more comfortable as your body prepares for birth.

At Better., we take the time to understand your pregnancy, your health history, your symptoms and what you need from care.

Gentle, pregnancy-appropriate care

Care during pregnancy is different from regular adult chiropractic care.

We use gentle techniques, pregnancy-safe positioning and supportive equipment to keep you comfortable throughout your appointment.

There is no forceful twisting or anything that feels unsafe or uncomfortable. Everything is explained before we begin, and you stay in control the whole time.

Your care is adapted to your stage of pregnancy, your comfort level and your individual needs.

Why pregnant women choose chiropractic care

Pregnant women may choose chiropractic care to support:

  • better pelvic and spinal movement

  • reduced lower back and hip tension

  • improved comfort during daily movement

  • better posture as the body changes

  • less strain through the pelvis and lower back

  • easier walking, sitting and sleeping positions

  • support during the physical demands of pregnancy

  • preparation for the postnatal stage

We do not promise a particular birth outcome. We focus on helping your body function as well as possible during a physically demanding stage of life.

Our approach at Better.

Your first appointment includes a detailed consultation and assessment.

We will ask about your pregnancy, previous pregnancies, birth history, pain or symptoms, sleep, work demands, movement and any concerns you have.

From there, we assess how your spine, pelvis and body are moving. We explain what we find clearly and talk you through whether chiropractic care may be suitable.

If care is appropriate, we create a plan that makes sense for your stage of pregnancy, your goals and your lifestyle.

No pressure. No scare tactics. Just clear information and gentle support.

Pregnancy care may be especially helpful if you are:

  • working long hours while pregnant

  • caring for toddlers or other children

  • struggling with sleep because of pain

  • experiencing pelvic, lower back or hip discomfort

  • feeling restricted or tense through your spine

  • finding walking, sitting or rolling over uncomfortable

  • wanting support as your body prepares for birth

  • wanting postnatal support after your baby arrives

Pregnancy can be beautiful, but it can also be physically demanding.

You do not need to wait until you are in significant pain before asking for support.

If you are pregnant and experiencing discomfort, stiffness, pelvic pain, lower back pain, sleep disruption or simply want support through the changes your body is going through, we would be happy to help.
