How we help
Nerve pain & problems
Nerve-related symptoms can show up in different ways. You may notice numbness, tingling, pins and needles, weakness, reduced grip strength, poor coordination or changes in how an area of your body feels.
Some people describe unusual sensations, such as crawling, buzzing, burning, zapping or the feeling of water running across the skin. However it presents, you know when something does not feel right.
These symptoms can be frustrating, distracting and sometimes concerning — especially when they keep returning or begin to affect how you move, work, sleep or function day to day.
At Better., our chiropractors take a brain-based and nervous-system-focused approach to care. This means we look closely at how your spine, brain and nervous system are communicating, and whether stress, tension or altered movement in the spine may be contributing to your symptoms.
Our approach is natural, thorough and focused on understanding what may be driving the problem — not simply masking the symptoms for short-term relief.
If you are experiencing nerve pain, numbness, tingling or unusual sensations, we can assess how your spine and nervous system are functioning and discuss whether chiropractic care may be appropriate for you.
Nerve-related symptoms can show up in many different ways, including sciatica, carpal tunnel-type symptoms, pins and needles, numbness, tingling, weakness or changes in sensation.
These symptoms may involve irritation, pressure or altered function within the nervous system — including the brain, spinal cord or spinal nerve roots. When this happens, the messages travelling between the brain and body may not function as smoothly as they should.
There are many possible reasons why nerves may become irritated or stressed. These can include inflammation following an injury, whiplash, long-term postural strain, repetitive movement, muscle tension, joint restriction, disc changes or reduced space around the spinal joints and nerve pathways.
Lifestyle factors such as hydration, nutrition, stress and recovery may also influence how the body responds to pain, tension and inflammation.
At Better., our approach is to assess the spine and nervous system to better understand what may be contributing to your symptoms. Rather than only focusing on where the pain is felt, we look at how your spine, joints, muscles and nervous system are functioning together.
Where appropriate, our chiropractors use gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments to help improve spinal movement, reduce mechanical tension and support better nervous system function.
Your initial consultation includes a detailed history, posture and movement assessment, spinal examination and, where clinically indicated, functional X-rays. This helps us better understand what may be contributing to your nerve-related symptoms and whether chiropractic care may be suitable for you.
From there, we can explain our findings clearly and recommend a care approach tailored to your individual needs.
